Finally, my very first art project.
Art48 has been an initiative to create a piece of artwork each day for forty-eight days continuously. It has been an act to challenge and explore myself to find my own style. I never had the time to completely focus on penning down all the ideas I had. This project helped me to do so and finally make those ideas real. It also helped me establish a routine to paint more frequently. Altogether I could free my mind of all the images that had been piling in my mind ever since my childhood. So that’s a fairly large amount of thoughts that have been gathered but never found its way onto a canvas.
Art48 is an album of artworks depicting a certain time period in my life and that itself is a beautiful memory.
Each painting that I’ve made in these forty-eight days depicted ideas that I had previously. And if I had ever run out of those ideas, I would paint what I felt that particular day. Through Art48, not only my desire to create was fulfilled but it also inspired me for the future. Another goal I wanted to achieve through this work was to find my forte. But with experience I’ve realized that it’s a goal that can only be achieved over the years and not within a short time.
I have always believed that art chose me before I chose art, unknowingly art has always been a part of my life. I’ve learnt that I love experimenting with different mediums and trying new things related to my art rather than sticking to one particular area. By the end of those forty-eight days I was left with forty-eight different canvases filling my living room and a contented soul. Completing this project did not hinder me from doing more, in fact just the opposite, it propelled me into working more on my art.
