Kishor and I travel quite often and wherever go I carry my little art essentials hoping that I’d make some quick sketches of the places we’ve visited.
But I failed to do so everytime, with our packed schedule of visiting places etc.,
This year in April we decided to go to Spain to meet Kishor’s best friend and explore a little bit of Spain. Regardless of going to paint or not, I made my bit of research on where to get some good art supplies that I would’nt find in my city.
Our first stop was in Madrid and we took a train the very next day to Barcelona.
In the beautiful allies of Barcelona, I found an Art supply store which had all the little art supplies I was looking for. I found a watercolour paper postcard set, with an empty back to paint on our own. This gave me an idea to stay connected with my audience through my travel and art at the same time.
I took it on to my Instagram and asked my followers to let me know, which work of mine they liked the most and that I would send them a Postcard hand painted by me :)
In Bilbao, Spain. Painting the beautiful balconies of Barcelona

Hand painted, Hand written Postcards.
I finally managed to achieve my goal of painting when I travel, and it felt so good. To able to juggle my time between exploring the city and making art was a big success. I learned to make time to paint inspite of a busy travel schedule and this meant a lot to me. Particularly because we don’t travel with an objective to make art or take photographs. Rather, we travel to explore the culture of the place, experience the food and enjoy the lifestyle.
